What is a Bitcoin QR code?
A Bitcoin QR code encodes a wallet address (and optionally an amount) in the BIP-21 URI format: bitcoin:ADDRESS?amount=X. When scanned with any Bitcoin wallet app, it pre-fills the recipient address and amount — making crypto payments as easy as a bank transfer.
Is it safe to share my crypto QR code?
Yes. A crypto QR code only contains your public wallet address — the address where people send funds. It does not expose your private key or seed phrase. Anyone can safely share their receive address publicly.
Which wallets support crypto QR codes?
All major wallets support BIP-21 URI QR codes: Coinbase, Trust Wallet, Exodus, MetaMask (via WalletConnect), Phantom (Solana), Binance, and hundreds more. Simply open the wallet's 'Send' screen and tap the scan icon.
Does the QR code work for USDT on both TRC20 and ERC20?
Yes. Select 'USDT (TRC20)' for TRON-based USDT transfers, or 'USDT (ERC20)' for Ethereum-based USDT. These are different networks — make sure the sender uses the same network as your wallet address.
Can I include a specific amount in the QR code?
Yes. Enter the amount in the optional field and it will be encoded in the QR (e.g. bitcoin:ADDRESS?amount=0.001). The wallet will pre-fill this amount, though the sender can still change it. Leave blank to accept any amount.
