What format does an Ethereum QR code use?
Ethereum QR codes use the EIP-681 format: ethereum:ADDRESS. For specific amounts, it becomes ethereum:ADDRESS?value=1e18 (in Wei). Most wallets also accept the plain address format.
Can I accept ERC-20 tokens (USDT, USDC) with an Ethereum QR code?
Your Ethereum address can receive any ERC-20 token. However, the QR code only pre-fills the ETH transfer. For token-specific requests, you would need EIP-681 with contract parameters — which most wallets handle via their UI.
Does the same Ethereum address work on other EVM chains?
Yes. Ethereum addresses are identical across all EVM-compatible networks: Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, etc. However, the QR code only signals the Ethereum mainnet. The sender selects the network in their wallet.
Which wallets scan Ethereum QR codes?

Can I use this for an NFT sale or smart contract interaction?
